• Pools and spas are extremely vulnerable to illness causing bacteria or other contaminants introduced into the water by bathers and spa users. Chlorine based sanitizers are strong, effective disinfectants. They kill harmful bacteria, aid in algae control and help keep the pool clean and clear. These sanitizers also leave beneficial chlorine residual in the water that continually destroys new bacteria entering the pool, protecting swimmers from potentially harmful contaminants and therefore should be a critical part of any pool care program. Using a chlorinated sanitizer allows bathers to enjoy the benefits of a healthy pool and spa environment. Chlorinating tablets consists of a tableted form of stabilized chlorine known as trichloro-s-triazinetrione (trichloroisocyanuric acid), also known as TriChlor. Trichloroisocyanuric acid is an excellent, highly concentrated source of available chlorine and is primarily used as a disinfectant and sanitizer in pool water treatment.
